HI, I'M alex
I’m Alex, not (surprisingly as everyone assumes) Frances. I’m a dreamer, a Mama, creative photographer and magic maker. I tell soulful love stories of people who have lived and loved, in my signature soulful style, with curiosity as my compass.
Dreamer, photographer and adventurer. Part playful, part soulful, I uncover love stories like yours, creating images with intention.
I believe that legacy always starts with love. For me, everything grows from the simple beauty of family. My name is actually those of my Great Great Grandparents, Frances and Rose West. I never met them, they passed away when my Grandmother was young but they were both deaf and as a child, my
Grandmother used sign language to communicate. She still signs today. I wanted to take my history and use it to create my identity. There’s many similarities between signing and photography. It is my joy to capture the unsaid and to witness the unseen. I love that I get to retell emotion and expression, uncovering and capturing connection.
It is your dream and I am the catcher, it’s magical to learn your unique language together, the way you touch, the way you connect, the poetry of intimacy, the artistic and unspoken. My imagery is the sign language that shares your love story and creates your legacy. too!

Uncover your overall approach to the day and an overview of your process. Help them picture what it’s like to have you there on the day and why what you do is so important. Mention how you’ll help them ensure the day flows smoothly, because you’ve had loads of experience at other weddings.
For example, talk about how you’ll arrive at first light to capture the mother-of-the-bride and the bridal squad helping the bride get ready. Or the groomsmen sneaking a few drinks to calm their nerves.
Chat about how you’ll turn up after one too many coffees, buzzing with energy to capture one of the most important, memorable days in their lives, and that you won’t miss a moment.
Write about documenting the getting ready prep through to ceremony, reception and afterparty (if relevant). How you’ll be there in the centre of it all or as a wallflower behind the scenes, photographing moments and details that they might’ve missed (e.g. Aunty Doris getting drunk on the d-floor). Imagery is an opportunity to extract every detail, the intricacy of each flower as it changes from summer to fall. These moments in time make for soulful stories that have presence and poetry.
